The process for admission to the first year honours courses (2011-2012 session) of Jagannath University will begin on August 22.
Application for the admission test can be done by Mobile phone. Students will be able to apply from 22 August to 25 September by the Mobile Phone operator Teletalk .
Admission test will begin with the admission test of Science Faculty (Ka Unit) which will be held on October 14, admission test of Arts Faculty (Kha unit) will begin on October 21, Commerce Faculty (Ga Unit) on October 28 and Transfer Unit on October 18. Every exam will start from 3.30 p.m.
72 questions will be set for the test questionnaire of each unit & time duration will be 1 hour. One mark will be obtained for each question and one mark will be cut from every four wrong answer.
To apply in a faculty, a student have to go into the message option first , then they have to type in this following order- JNU(space)1st three letter of H.S.C Education Board(space)H.S.C Roll Number(space)Pass year of H.S.C(space)S.S.C Roll Number(space)Pass year of S.S.C(space) Key word of Desired Unit & send this message to 16222 number. Keyword for Science Faculty- A, Arts Faculty- B, Business Studies- C and Social Science-D. First three letters for Dhaka-DHA, Chittagong- CHI, Rajshahi- RAJ, Sylhet- SYL, Commilla- COM, Barishal- BAR, Dinajpur- DIN, Jessore- JES, Madrasa- MAD, Vocational – VOC, Diploma in Business Studies- DIB, Diploma in Business Management- HBM.O/A level students will have to write GCE in exchange of the name of the board and open university students will type OTH. If all the given information are fulfilled correctly then an acceptance request will come to the applicants mobile with informing the applicants name, Fees of Admission Test, and a PIN number on the returned SMS. Then applicant will have to accept the request through sending SMS as – JNU(space)YES(space)PIN(space)Phone Number (Any operator) & send it to 16222 number. Small or Capital any letter can be used in SMS. When the applicant accepts the request, 350 Tk. will be cut from applicant’s mobile balance. If a student applies once, it cannot be withdrawal.
To apply in quota, different keywords have to be used. For Freedom Fighter progeny (FFQ), Ward Quota (WQ), Tribal Quota (TQ), Physically Disable Quota (PDQ) will have to be used. To apply in Quota , Quota keyword will have to be placed after the Keyword of desired unit.
